The answer can be found at Ghee Hiang Tambun Biscuit, which is located in Georgetown, Penang (address below). Ghee Hiang was established in mid 1980s and is very famous until today for their tambun biscuits or 'tau sar peah'. Tambun biscuits or 'tau sar peah' are made of green bean paste enveloped with a thin, yet flaky crust layers.

A box of Ghee Hiang tambun biscuit (RM9.50/ box) contains 8 packets of individually packed, each contain 4 mini tambun biscuit/ 'tau sar peah'.
Throughout the years, their 'tau sar peah' evolved from the size of a bun to a small bite-size that can easily fit into any mouths.

Many other choices seen here, but 'Tasty or Not?' recommendation is for their mini tambun biscuits/ 'tau sar peah' only. Do try out others and leave your comments here too:) Also, prices here are reasonable. For those who plan to buy many boxes, please call first to make early orders.
It's common for people who travel overseas to buy chocolates after visiting a foreign country for their relatives...boring!!! For those who visit Penang, Ghee Hiang tambun biscuits is one of the most popular gifts to buy back for families and friends back home. With this purchase, they can bring back both great local foods and century-old heritage of Penang.

Tasting time. Inspection first. You can see how thin each layers of crust from the right tambun biscuit. Less oily also from the outside as shown by the minimal reflection of light:)
Let me touch a bit on Him Heang tambun biscuit also. Naturally, as a competitor for the same niche market, preferences and opinions are divided on which tambun biscuit is the best. If you ask 'Tasty or Not?', I'll certainly go with Ghee Hiang since their tambun biscuits are more flavorful and refined (packed with green beans with only thin layers of flaky crust outside to contain the massive burst of sweetness!). It's also less oily and conviniently packed in sealed package of 4 mini tambun biscuits/ 'tau sar peah'.
Further inspection after first bite. I have to take smaller bite or the whole tambun biscuit will be in my mouth already, hahaha. Seen here is the generous amount of fillings to crust layers ratio. How's the taste? The well balanced sweetness is just right and didn't overshadow the green bean flavor and the tinge of saltiness in it. It's also effortless of eat it because it 'melts' in your mouth, literally, of course:)
